$200.00Price
This painting depicts central African Nkisi sculptures. Nkisi sculptures were traditionally used as a form of protection by various ethnic groups in the Congo Basin. Here a sculpture of Christ is on top of a father and mother sculpture, reminiscent of the holy trinity. Beneath their feet is a cosmogram, another traditional central African symbol representing to connection between the physical and spiritual world. This painting was made for the purpose of representing the genocide that is currently being committed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
